Liverpool have made a final offer to Inter Milan in an attempt to conclude a deal for Philippe Coutinho.
The Anfield club have not increased
their £7.2million bid for the Brazilian midfielder, who is also a target
for Southampton, but restructured it in a way that would see Inter
receive more money up front.
Target: Philippe Coutinho is wanted by Liverpool
Negotiations have dragged on since
Liverpool’s opening offer was rebuffed last Friday and boss Brendan
Rodgers is aware a time may come when Liverpool have to walk away from
the deal.
Rodgers, meanwhile, is reluctant to let
either Sebastian Coates or Jack Robinson leave Anfield on loan. The
defenders have rarely figured this season but Rodgers does not feel he
can allow them to go elsewhere.
Looking to add: Brendan Rodgers is keen to strengthen his squad before the transfer deadline
‘They need to get out but unfortunately
it may well be that they don't go out,’ said Rodgers. ‘The needs of the
group is the most important thing.’
Hearts have confirmed the signing of Liverpool striker Michael Ngoo on loan.
